April 23, 1940 (Payoff Pitch Replay)

  Of today's five games, there were two were hard fought one-run affairs, one of which ended in a walkoff.  In the first game in Boston, the Nationals were able to hang on to a slim lead despite the Red Sox getting a run back in the bottom of the 9th inning and having the tying run on second base when the game ended.  The other one, in the Bronx, is today's Game of the Day.   Four games today, one of which was outstanding.  Overall, a good day of action...although as a lifelong Reds fan, I hate seeing the Reds not being able to get on the winning side of things!
