Danny MacFayden (BOS)

Danny MacFayden turned in what is likely the best pitching performance of the entire 1929 season thus far.  MacFayden gave up a single in the 3rd inning, but that was it - he went the distance and threw a 1-hit shutout, walking one and striking one out along the way.  For good measure, MacFayden also went 2-4 at the plate.  A great day for the lowly Red Sox!

  Three games today, two of them really-well played, while the White Sox-Senators was a bit of a runaway.  Today finally saw the Cardinals get their first win of the season, in a game where neither starter went particularly deep.  The Cubs lost their first game of the year but will certainly take a 4-1 start.  The Game of the Day, though, featured a matchup of two star starting pitchers.
