Charlie Root (CHC)

Charlie Root has already been acknowledged as being one of the best pitchers in the National League so far this season (he is listed as the #3 pitcher in the NL in the most recent Week in Review) but he pitched his masterpiece today in Chicago.  In what was a tight game for most of the afternoon, Root was unflappable, pitching all 9 innings while allowing no runs and only 5 hits.  A performance like this not only helps the Cubs continue to fight toward the top of the NL standings, but could also push Root further up the list of best pitchers in the league.
