Chick Hafey (STL)

In what was a spectacular back-and-forth game today in Pittsburgh, the Cardinals managed to score two runs in the top of the 9th to take a late lead, get the game into extra innings by only allowing the Pirates to get one across in the bottom of the 9th, and then score 2 more runs in the top of the 10th to seal the victory.  The star of the day was unquestionably, Chick Hafey.  Rather than worry about the tough days that Frankie Frisch and Jim Bottomley had hitting in front of him, Hafey decided he would just go ahead and drive himself in.  Hafey blasted 2 home runs (giving him 5 on the season) and drove in 3 runs (giving him 25 on the year).
