Mule Haas (PHA)

It is usually his teammates Al Simmons, Jimmie Foxx, and Lefty Grove that show up in these Stellar Performances headlines, but today in Boston, Mule Haas had his finest performance of the season and put together a game at the level of Simmons or Foxx.  The A's destroyed the Red Sox and Haas was a  key reason why, going 3-5 with a HR, 2 doubles, and 6 RBI.  Haas now has 22 RBI on the season and the A's continue to hum along in first place.

April 17, 1940 (Payoff Pitch Replay)

And we are off and running with the 1940 season, using Payoff Pitch for a complete replay of the season where my beloved Cincinnati Reds won their first World Series since the infamous 1919 Series!  I'm still thinking/working through how to present results, but I'm thinking I will make daily (in game terms) posts with these pictures of all the box scores - I love this screen in Digital Diamond Baseball to display all the day's action.
