Norm McMillan (CHC)

It was an offensive explosion in Boston today, but it looked like all the firepower was going to come only from the Cubs, as Chicago burst open an 8-0 lead in the 2nd inning.  The Braves, however, had other ideas and scored 7 runs of their own in the bottom of the 4th.  The Cubs managed to hold on to the lead, despite the Braves getting a run back in the bottom of the 9th, and move to 14-11 on the year.  This was a significant victory for the Cubs, who had lost three straight coming into today.

The leader for the Cubs was third baseman Norm McMillan, who went 2-5 with 2 home runs and 3 RBI.  The league's best hitter, Rogers Hornsby, also blasted his league-leading 9th home run.
