Jimmie Foxx (PHA)

The Philadelphia Athletics are clearly the class of the American League and Al Simmons appears to be the best player on this A's team...unless Jimmie Foxx keeps up performances like these.  Today at Shibe Park, the A's absolutely obliterated the White Sox, winning 16-4 and pushing their record to 31-15.  The A's now lead the second-place St. Louis Browns by 4 games.  Foxx, meanwhile, appears to be making his own push to unseat Al Simmons (and even Bing Miller for that matter) for an American League MVP.  Foxx went 2-5, but both of those hits were three-run home runs.  With his 2 home runs and 6 RBI, his season totals have risen to 16 and 46, respectively.
