Watty Clark (BRO)

Having lost 7 straight games and facing Reds starter Red Lucas, who has been the best pitcher in the National League all season, the Robins looked on the verge of extending the losing streak to 8.  Watty Clark, however, produced his finest start of the season to beat Lucas and secure an end to the skid.  Clark pitched a complete game, 3-hit shutout to move his record to 6-5.  For good measure he also got a hit and knocked a run in.
