April 20, 1949: Washington Senators vs. New York Yankees

Yankees shortstop Phil Rizzuto went 2-4, knocking in two runs and scoring two himself, to lead the Yanks to victory.  Yankees had to hold of a late Senators charge but were able to do so.

Yankees move to 1-1 on the young season, while the Senators fall to 1-2.
