April 22, 1949: St. Louis Browns vs. Chicago White Sox

It was a real pitcher's duel today on the southside of Chicago, with White Sox starter Marino Pieretti coming out on top of a 2-1 decision.  Pieretti went the distance, allowing only one run, while his teammates managed to cobble together two runs again Browns starter Red Embree.  With the win, the White Sox are now 2-2, while the Browns fall to 1-3.
