Weekly Roundup (Games thru 4/20/1941)

The Replay Roundup provides a perfect summary of the first week of action in the 1941 season!  We have had some great games thus far and some stellar starts to the season - Joe Kuhel (White Sox) and Dick Bartell (Tigers) in particular have started the season white hot!  

My plan for these Weekly Roundup posts going forward will provide league leaders in the major hitting and pitching categories.  At the moment, only one week into the season, I'm not sure there's much of a sample size to provide anything meaningful or that deserves the time that it will take to organize any statistics.  I will pick up with league leaders sometime around Week 3, I imagine.

  As you can see on the scoreboards, it was full slate of games today and there were some magnificent performances, particularly on the mound.  The Cubs-Pirates affair could make a strong case for Game of the Day, with the Pirates snagging a run in the bottom of the 8th on a Deb Garms RBI single to seal a one-run victory.  But as you will see below, we are going with a pitcher's duel in Boston for today's honors.
