- In Cleveland, the Indians put four runs across in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game. Roy Weather hit a two-out, three run home run to tie the game at 8-8. After an Athletics’ pitching change, the next man up, Ken Keltner, then blasted a walkoff solo home run. What a finish!

There was also a classic at Sportsman’s Park in
St. Louis, as a Wally Judnich home run in the bottom of the 9th inning tied the
game at 2-2, then a three-run walk-off home run by Harlond Clift stole the
Browns a 5-2 win over the first-place Yankees.
