Babe Ruth (NYY)

The Bronx Bombers lived up to their name today in Cleveland, posting 11 runs and easily routing the hometown Indians.  Babe Ruth led the way, swatting 2 home runs himself and going for back-to-back homers with Lou Gehrig in the 8th inning.  Ruth finished the day 3-6 with 4 RBI.  Ruth's two rockets today bring his season total to 7 HRs, along with 19 RBI.  George Pipgras also deserves praise for his effort on the mound, pitching a 1-run complete game and giving up only 4 hits on the day.

With the win, the Yankees pull to within 1.5 games of the first-place Washington Senators.  The Philadelphia Athletics sit only a half game out of first.
