Red Lucas (CIN)

Another lights out pithing performance today, this time in Cincinnati by the aptly-named Reds ace Red Lucas.  Lucas has remained a fixture near the top of the weekly "Top 5 Pitchers" list in the National League and today's performance will only push him higher up the list.  Lucas went the distance, giving up only 5 hits and striking out 3.  With the win, Lucas moves to 4-2 with a 2.13 ERA on the season.  The Reds remain near the bottom of the NL standings but Lucas has been brilliant.

  Three games today, two of them really-well played, while the White Sox-Senators was a bit of a runaway.  Today finally saw the Cardinals get their first win of the season, in a game where neither starter went particularly deep.  The Cubs lost their first game of the year but will certainly take a 4-1 start.  The Game of the Day, though, featured a matchup of two star starting pitchers.
