- - Boston Braves second baseman Bama Rowell hits two home runs against the Dodgers – a grand slam in the bottom of the 3rd inning and then a solo shot in 5th. The Braves needed each of his five RBI, as they held on for a 6-5 victory.
- - New York Giants left fielder Morrie Arnovich
clobbered two home runs at the Polo Grounds as the Giants demolished the
winless Phillies by a score of 8-1.
Giants’ starter Bob Bowman pitched a complete game, allowing only one
run, while also hitting a home run himself.

- - It took 13 innings to complete the Cubs-Cardinals
game today at Sportsman’s Park. It ended
only after a solo home run from Cubs’ right fielder Bill Nicholson in the top
of the 13th inning to seal a 6-5 Cubs win - their first win in the young season.
