-          It took 10 innings to decide today’s Yankees-Tigers game in Detroit, with the Yankees ultimately stopping their two-game skid and getting the 5-4 win.  Joe Gordon responded every time the Yanks needed to answer the Tigers, going 3-5 with 3 RBI.

-          Athletics centerfielder Sam Chapman homered for a second straight day, bringing his league-leading total to 12 as the A’s beat the White Sox 7-4.
