Ethan Allen (CIN)

The Reds have hovered near the bottom of the National League standings for most of the season, but with today's victory over the St. Louis Cardinals, the Reds have now won three in a row and are no longer occupying last place.  The Reds were led today by slugger Ethan Allen, who had his finest day of the 1929 season - 2-4, 2 home runs, and 4 RBI.  Allen now has 4 home runs on the season and has driven in 23 runs.

The Cardinals are now officially reeling, with this making three straight losses.  The Cardinals fall to two games below .500.
