Mel Ott (NYG)

The Giants have caught fire and it's hard to think it doesn't directly correlate to Mel Ott breaking out from his slow start to the season.  Today at the Polo Grounds, Ott blasted two solo home runs in leading the Giants to a 7-3 victory.  Despite his subpar start, Ott now has 6 home runs on the season, has driven in 16 runs, and has his batting average up to .308.

With today's win, the Giants are now 9-1 in their last 10 games and have opened up a 3.5 game lead over the Cubs.
