Mel Ott (NYG)

Mel Ott continues the tear that he's been on of late, having his second multi-homer game in three days.  Ott powered the Giants to their fifth straight victory, going 2-4 and knocking in 4 runs along the way.  With his pair of homers, Ott now has 8 on the season.  Along with stars Bill Terry and Travis Jackson, Ott is a prime reason why the Giants have a major league best 21-9 record and are now 5 games clear in the National League pennant race.
