Charlie Gehringer (DET)

The Yankees are on full tilt, dropping their 6th straight game today in the Bronx.  Charlie Gehringer led the Tigers charge, smacking 2 home runs (his third and fourth of the season) and knocking in 4 runs.  Gehringer has been hot of late, now hitting .315 for the season and bringing his RBI total for the year up to 31.  The Tigers have flirted with making a run toward the top half of the American League standings all season and with today's victory they have won four straight and are only two games under .500.

The Yankees, on the other hand, have lost 6 straight and badly need the bat of Babe Ruth to return to the lineup.
