Now in the everyday lineup, Red Sox star Ted
Williams is starting to find his groove.
Today he went 3-4 with a home run, walk, and three RBI. The Red Sox powered past the White Sox by a
score of 8-3.

St. Louis Browns starter Johnny Allen not only
pitched a complete game, giving up only two runs and striking out six along the
way, but also hit two home runs himself!
At the plate, Allen went 3-4, knocking in five runs through his two home
runs.

Cubs third baseman Stan Hack came up with a
clutch single in the top of the 12th inning to get the Cubs a 5-4
win over the last-place Phillies.

The Cincinnati Reds won their fifth straight
game, largely on the shoulders of the reigning National League MVP, Frank
McCormick. In the top of the 8th,
trailing 2-1, McCormick came up with two men on and belted his first home run
of the season. Behind a strong outing
from starter Bucky Walters, the Reds won 5-2.
