-          The legendary Jimmie Foxx had a big day in Boston, going 3-4 and blasting his fourth home run of the season.  He drove in three runs along the way to move the Red Sox to 21-14 on the year as they try and keep pace with the Yankees and Indians.

-          The St. Louis Cardinals stay red hot, winning their 7th straight game today by beating the Cubs 5-0.  Starter Ernie White pitched a complete game shutout, giving up only three hits along the way.  With the win, White moves to 3-1 on the year while the Cardinals go to 32-11 and pull 3.5 games ahead of the second-place Brooklyn Dodgers.
